Where Has SlipKnot Gone?

Okay, so recently I heard SlipKnot’s new song, Psychosocial. When I first heard about SlipKnot finally making a new album, I was uberly excited. I screamed at the Wikipedia page I was on. I was really hoping it would be more like their old stuff and less like their new.

Now, don’t get me wrong, the Subliminal album was good. I loved it. But seriously, SlipKnot’s older stuff just can’t be beaten. Back then, Corey Taylor’s voice was like, godly. No debate. Now it’s fucked up because he screamed wrong.

Anyway, back to Psychosocial, as I was saying, hoping it would be more like the older albums. NO. It was even less than the older albums and still less than the Subliminal album. They don’t even look scary anymore.

I mean, what the fuck kind of Mask are you wearing, Corey?

What the fuck is that? It’s shit, compared to this

Their songs just aren’t catching me as much anymore. I fell in love with the violence and brutality in SlipKnot’s songs. They were Mosh Pit worthy. But now, there’s no decent tune pumping for kids to beat the shit out of each with.

THIS is SlipKnot:

“I Don’t Like A Fucking Thing, Music Sucks Dick, Suck The Snot End Of The Tip Of My Prick” = win.
Seriously, listen to Corey’s voice. Gold. Joey’s drums. Gold. The guitars. Gold.
THAT is a SlipKnot song. This is what they should have stayed like. But nooo, they came out with this:

“I Did My Time, And I Want Out, So Abusive, Fate!” = what?
Seriously, the only bits of that song that are any good is the Intro, Ending and Joey’s drumming. That’s the only thing I’ve seen majorly improve. Joey Jordison’s drumming.

I’m disappointed, SlipKnot. I really am.
I might not be a “Maggot”, but I still fucking love SlipKnot.

But if all their new songs are going to sound like this, I’m not going to be a happy bunny at all.

I’ll be waiting for Hate Mail kthx.

Now I’m not a diehard Slipknot fan, but I do like their music, and I have friends who are diehard fans, and we all like the new music as well as their older music, both are great, but I personally like the newer stuff better… I dunno, it’s just a matter of taste imo.

I am with you on the fact that Slipknot has gone soft for this one song.
But have you ever listened to there other new song, “All Hope Is Gone”?
Its is quite a great song and i like to call psychosocial a power ballad to there awesomeness.
the only thing bad is that i just missed there show when they came to where i live D= but whatever, if you listen to All Hope Is Gone youll find out that they didnt soften up that much. i do agree that there first album just cant be beat with all the deathlyness but they go wherever they want to. i highly doubt that there is even a possibility that they are selling out to the softer croud!
and dude you are the mann i saw your vids for the first time today and your already my new hero =D
hopefully you accept my friend request on myspace!

Meh Slipknot has always been a decent band but no offence I only liked six or seven of their songs also I never really liked the vocals of Slipknot very much but thats because most of my bands sound like this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5Hv0tsvpyU
